OKLAHOMA CITY – It's fair to say that Oklahoma City guard Kevin Durant has been busy on the court as well as in the tattoo parlor this summer.

This time KD added to his collection of tattoos with a large piece of work covering his entire back that pays tribute to his home state, spirituality and his childhood coach in a big and artful way.

"Maryland" is now tattooed in an arc across the top of his back that stretches from shoulder blade to shoulder blade. Underneath that in the middle is a depiction of an angel holding a basketball and on either side of the angel are two hands—the left has three fingers extended while the right has all five extended to reference Durant's jersey number: 35.

KD wears the number 35 to pay tribute to his childhood AAU coach and mentor who passed away at the age of 35.

"Ouchh" tweeted Durant on Monday after pictures surfaced on Twitter of his new tattoo.

Durant, who is from Maryland, had the tattoos done by a Georgia tattoo artist named Randy, and recently shared the pictures of the new artwork with the world via Twitter.

The back tattoo, like all of Durant's others, are covered by his jersey while he is playing.

Some argue that the Thunder is the least tattooed team in the league, but seeing as how you can't see any of KD's artwork while playing it might be more accurate to say they have the most covered up tattoos in the league.
