UPDATE: TULSA, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery, which took place at the EZ-Go gas station on the Will Rogers Turnpike near Vinita.

Authorities say at approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday, the suspect, 27-year-old Aaron Holmes, was spotted by a police officer near Big Cabin in Craig County.

Local officers then contacted OHP investigators. Holmes was then interviewed and taken into custody on complaints of armed robbery, felony assault and battery and other crimes, stemming from the robbery.

Just after midnight Monday, Holmes came into the EZ-GO gas station and robbed the clerk, according to Lt. George Brown with the OHP.

Holmes then took an undisclosed sum of money after showing the woman that he had a semi-automatic pistol. He forced the woman into the store bathroom where he pistol whipped her.

The clerk was treated and released from a local hospital.

Holmes was booked into the Craig County Jail located in Vinita.
