OKLAHOMA CITY --Governor Mary Fallin got a first hand look at the devastating aftermath of this week's fires in northeast Oklahoma City.

One of her stops was the Harrison Bethel Baptist Church which burned down early Wednesday morning.

For the church's pastor and congregation, the governor offered hugs and words of encouragement.

She also shook hands and thanked firefighters who had been working tirelessly over the past days.

"To the firefighters and their families, thank you very, very, very much," said Governor Fallin.

At the command center the governor was briefed on the current situation and said the state will use all the resources necessary to protect homes and families.

"I want to make it clear there is no holding back of the National Guard helicopter because of financial costs," said the Governor.

Still with fresh images of loss and sacrifice, the governor urged Oklahomans to do all they can to prevent this from happening again.

"Certainly there's a burn ban, there's a reason I put a burn ban on the state, You need to adhere to it and if you don't we're going to penalize you and come after you."
