OKLAHOMA CITY -- Firefighters from around the state are helping with prevention efforts after wildfires scorch miles of land across northeast and southeast Oklahoma city.

Crews from as far away as Enid and Tulsa are doing what they can to put out hot spots to avoid another round of wildfires.

Many homeowners near Midwest Blvd. and N.E. 122nd Street had flames come right up to their front and back yards, but their homes were spared. Many are trying to return home to see what is left only to find roads to their homes blocked as firefighters continue their preemptive strike.
