OKLAHOMA CITY -- A man is pistol whipped and rushed to the hospital, after a brutal home invasion in Northwest Oklahoma City. And one of the suspects winds up dead.

Police are now investigating whether this home invasion could be related to several others around the metro.

Spencer Police Chief Virgil Green is already diligently trying to piece together if this recent home invasion could be linked to one they had almost 2 weeks ago.

"We're looking to see if there are any similarities between the two home invasions, " said Green. "There have been several other incidents involved with one of our suspects and a woman knocking on doors and then robbing the place."

The home invasion in Spencer happened just after 2:00 in the morning on August 12, near N.E. 36th Street and Stumpff. It was here, where the homeowners fought back and tried to wrestle the shotgun out of one of the suspect's hands.

The shotgun went off, striking the suspect, who took off running, and collapsed in a nearby field. He was later identified as 21-year-old Tristan Foster.

In last night's home invasion on North McKinley, police said three men and one women burst into a home and pistol whipped the young man inside. Then, they took off.

"The vehicle quickly pulled into a driveway near N.W. 98th Street and Western," said Msgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department. "One suspect got out of the car and fled on foot."

Knight said the two suspects left in the car took off. The car was later spotted at N.W. 98th Street and Military, where it was found abandoned.

A short time later a body was discovered in the street less than a block away.

"The body is believed to be one of the suspects involved in this home invasion, one of the two people who was in the vehicle," said Knight.

Right now police say they do not know the cause of death. That will be up to the medical examiner's office to decide.
