EDMOND, Oklahoma – Edmond police are searching for two young women swiping cell phones from people who think they're helping two people in need.

According to police reports, the women knocked on doors at Spring Creek Apartments at 777 E. 15th Street, and at a house on Mary Lee Lane in Edmond. Each time, the suspects asked to use the phone. They always stayed outside.

At some point, one woman would ask for a glass of water. When the victim went inside to get it, the women ran away with the victim's cell phone.

The three incidents happened on Sunday, August 21, within two hours. Police say it appears the suspects knocked on several doors at the Spring Creek Apartments, searching for victims. At least three times, they asked to use residents' phones and dialed numbers, but made no attempt to steal phones.

All victims say the suspects were African American women in their late teens or early 20s, but their descriptions differ on what the women were wearing.
