OKLAHOMA CITY -- A man accused of conning metro residents out of cash is behind bars Friday night.

Several elderly women across the metro tell police Josh Treat promised to do work for pay, but took off without doing any work.

"I didn't do better and I knew better.  My relatives would have a fit letting someone in the house like that," 83-year old Charlotte Smith said.

Police say 83-year old Smith was one of about ten elderly women who took pity on Josh Treat. The great grandmother says the man who promised to clean her gutters and flower beds was hard up for money.

"He was just a con.  He just wanted money. I think he was on dope.  He was definitely on something," she said.

Oklahoma County sherrifs arrested Treat in Norman Friday.

While Smith is happy he is off the streets, she isn't satisfied.

"When they prosecute him, I would like to go down there. I would say 'Goody!  Hang his ass!" she said.

Treat is in the Oklahoma County Jail where he was booked for financial exploitation of the elderly.

His bond is set at $20,000.
