OKLAHOMA CITY -- A group of firefighters riding across the country to honor 9/11 victims stopped in Oklahoma City Friday.

The firefighters began their journey in California on July 24th and are set to arrive in New York City at the FDNY Firefighters Memorial on September 9th.

They visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum Friday afternoon. They said they want to make sure no one forgets what happened.

"We haven't forgotten... to make sure people really haven't forgotten what happened here also," said Jorge Ostrovsky, a Los Angeles firefighter.

The group is also raising money for the Leary Firefighters Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.

The team will meet the public Saturday as they host a 5K and meet and greet at Red Coyote Running and Fitness at 9 a.m.
