YUKON, Oklahoma – While many people were sleeping, the Yukon Millers were breaking a sweat on the football field Friday morning preparing for the upcoming season.

At 12:01 a.m. Friday morning head coach Todd Wilson and the Millers were inside their new 6,000 seat football stadium suited up for some midnight madness on the football field.

Although the Millers lost a handful of talent from last year's graduating class, they will look to some key seniors to lead the team to victory this season.

One of those leaders is senior quarterback Corben Jones who is one of four starters back for the Millers. Last year Jones threw for 2,294 yards and 25 touchdowns.

One of Jones' targets will be senior Dereck Deeds who will help the Millers from a number of different positions.

Not only does Yukon have a new football stadium, they actually have a whole new high school.

The just completed 82-million dollar project gives the Millers brand new 110 acre, 35,000 square foot school as well as the football stadium that includes a double-decker press box and a two-story wellness center.

The Yukon football team faces its first test of the year on Sept. 2 on the road against rival Mustang while they will play their first game of the season inside the new stadium on Sept. 8 against Edmond Santa Fe.
