OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is offering free admission to the public this Sunday to celebrate the support of sales tax.

The 1/8 of a cent sales tax appropriation passed by Oklahoma City on July 17, 1990 has improved the Oklahoma City Zoo in several aspects, including having the Zoo's newest addition, the Elephant Habitat.

The Elephant Habitat opened March 11. It is home to Asian elephants Asha, Chandra and Asha's calf Malee.

Malee is now three-month-old and weighs 504 pounds.

The Zoo is located in Oklahoma City's Adventure District at the crossroads of I-44 and I-35, it is ranked as one of the top three family-friendly zoos in the country and is Oklahoma's number one tourist attraction.
