OKLAHOMA CITY -- Fire crews called out a second alarm on a northwest Oklahoma City house fire when the 98-degree heat threatened to affect firefighters.

The fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. at 2909 Rossmore Place; that's near N. May and Wilshire.

Strong winds fanned the flames at the house.  Firefighters were forced to stay outside the house and fight the flames in defensive mode when the roof partially collapsed.  Fire supervisors were worried the intense heat would begin to affect firefighters, so they called a second alarm so another crew could come in to relieve them.

No one was hurt in the fire.  Investigators don't know yet how the fire started.
