Edmond Police Investigate Double Shooting

EDMOND, Oklahoma – Police are investigating a shooting which left two people injured Thursday night in a normally-quiet neighborhood.

Police were called to the Bryant Grove Apartments shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday to investigate a home invasion and shooting.

The apartments are located near Edmond Regional Hospital and police said this is the first time there has been a shooting in this area.

A group of gunmen reportedly burst into an apartment and shot one person inside. Another person across the way was injured by a stray bullet.

One resident said neighbors in the area are pretty shaken up.

"You pause and you think, ‘That sounds like shots. That can't be shots.' And it ends up being shots," said Joey Biorato, a neighbor who heard the gunshots next door.

Biorato saw one of the injured men near the stairway and shot a You Tube video as police arrived on the scene.

He said he doesn't know why this would happen in a normally quiet neighborhood.

Police investigators combed through nearby areas for evidence looking for any leads to help them find the gunmen behind the shooting.

Both victims are recovering and police don't have any suspects at this time.
