'Redneck' Robber Steals Cash, CD From Oklahoma City Store

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police are searching for a man who pretended to be a shopper, but was actually an armed robber.

On March 3, the man walked into a CD Warehouse in the 4000 block of N. Pennsylvania and asked the clerk to help him find a David Allen Coe CD.  The clerk located the CD and brought it to the counter. Instead of pulling out cash to pay, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded the clerk give him the cash from the register.  After getting the money, the robber ordered the clerk to lie on the floor.

On his way out, the robber grabbed the CD he'd asked the clerk to locate and said, "I'll take this, too.  I'm kind of a redneck."

Police have released images of the robber taken from surveillance video.  He is described as a white male in his forties with shaggy, light brown hair and a beard.  A witness saw the suspect drive away in an older model, cream-colored Lincoln with a spare tire on the trunk of the car.
