Motorcyclist Killed, Other Driver Injured In Collision at 60th Avenue SE

A motorcyclist was killed and another driver was injured after the two vehicles collided at 60th Avenue SE and State Highway 9 Thursday.

NORMAN, Oklahoma – A motorcyclist was killed and another driver was injured after the two vehicles collided at 60th Avenue SE and State Highway 9 Thursday.

The road was closed for over four hours and Norman police set up detours while they investigated the scene.

Police said a pick-up truck hit a motorcycle and the impact sent both vehicles over the side of the road and into a wooded area.

The motorcyclist, 68-year-old Delbert Ray Dodd, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police did not say if he was wearing a helmet.

EMSSTAT paramedics transported the driver of the truck to an area hospital with significant injuries. The truck driver's name has not been released.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
