EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Schools closed for the day, but parents didn't have to worry too much because many daycares were open.
After last week's blizzard, many parents couldn't afford to miss another day of work. Parents were grateful daycares were open.
"I am asked to come to work. I work at the VA hospital so clinics do not close unless it's a state of emergency. So it's really helpful when the kids can go to daycare," said parent Rachel Caywood.
Employees said if they can safely make it in, they open their doors.
"We see their frustrations and we understand and that's why we try, if we can get our staff here, we open up for them," said daycare employee Amber Wade.
"I don't think it's as bad as everyone thinks it is. It's not near as bad as last week,' said parent Chad Bernard.
And unfortunately, employers can legally fire workers for missing work during bad weather. That's not a common practice and usually if an employee is fired, it's due to previous attendance issues.
