Boy Scouts, HeartLine Helping Clear Snow For Seniors, Disabled

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Last Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America and HeartLine Oklahoma 211 will be working together to help Oklahomans in need after the second snow storm in two weeks hits the state.

If a senior, or person with disabilities needs help clearing snow, please dial 211 on your phone and one of HeartLine's call specialists will take your information and pass it along to the more than 9,000 registered scouts.

The organizations are asking that only people who are unable to clear their porches and driveways to call.

"We are happy to partner with HeartLine in bringing assistance to those who might not be able to help themselves," said Jeff Woolsey, Scout Executive and CEO of the Last Frontier Council. "We are very proud of our Scouts who are so willing to get involved in service during times of need and exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in such a practical and real way."

The Boy Scouts of America also partnered with HeartLine after the blizzard of 2009, 2010 to determine who needed help with the snow and ice. There were over one hundred homes that received assistance from Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and adult volunteers.
