LANGLEY, Oklahoma -- The Grand River Dam Authority is urging everyone to stay off the ice on Grand and Hudson lakes.

"We've had a couple of incidents where we have had to rescue kids playing in those areas," said GRDA Superintendent of Law Enforcement Charlie Floyd. "It is extremely dangerous out there and we can't stress enough that people need to stay clear."

Floyd said despite the fact ice has formed on some parts of area lakes, it is not strong enough to support people.

Tuesday's record-breaking snowfall caused major damage to some boats and marinas at Grand Lake.  One of the best known names at the Grand Lake estimated the damage at $40 million.
