EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Homeowners in Edmond are taking precautions because of concerns over coyotes and bobcats.
Residents said small dogs and cats have been killed recently in the Arrowhead, Cheyenne Ridge and Thornbrooke neighborhoods in southeast Edmond.
Residents are blaming coyotes and possibly bobcats, especially since this is the time of year the animals breed.
"I think the coyotes are coming this way. I think that the bobcats had lost a lot of havens out east of town. And we can stop construction, but who wants to do that?" said Bill Merkel, member of the Arrowhead Homeowners Association
Experts say coyotes and bobcats pose a threat to small animals, especially at night, but are seldom a danger to people.
