NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Extremely dry and windy conditions in the state have led to more grass fires, this time in Norman and Pauls Valley.

Firefighters battled flames near Highway 9 and 36th Ave. S.E. The fire burned near a neighborhood and very close to several homes, but officials said no structures were in danger.

SkyNews9 Pilot Mason Dunn flew over the scene and said it appeared the fire has started in someone's backyard.

Another fire burned several acres of land in Pauls Valley. It is unclear what caused that fire.

Southwest of Seminole, firefighters also knocked down a blaze that burned through heavy timber. Seminole Emergency Management Director Ernie Willis said no structures were involved and there were no reports of injuries.
