Second Store Robbed In Norman Shopping Area In 24 Hours

A second store in a shopping area in Norman was robbed within 24 hours and police are searching for the suspect.

NORMAN, Oklahoma – A second store in a shopping area in Norman was robbed within 24 hours and police are searching for the suspect.

At about 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Norman police were notified of a robbery at Motherhood Maternity located at 1432 N.W. 24th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers determined that an unknown male entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect then ordered the clerk into the back room and fled the store.

No one was injured during the theft.

The suspect is described as a white male 50 to 60 years old, with light brown hair, and a wrinkled face. He was last seen wearing a blue or brown beanie cap and a thick denim jean jacket.

A witness saw a teal green pickup leaving the scene at a high rate of speed, shortly after t the robbery. It is unknown if this is the suspect's vehicle.

Friday night a Hallmark store located at 1600 N.W. 24th Avenue was also robbed. It is unclear if the thefts are related.

Anyone with information about either robbery should call the Norman Police Department at (405) 321-1600.. The case is currently under investigation by members of the Norman Police Criminal Investigations Division.
