Harrah Grassfire Threatened Homes, Residents Evacuated

Harrah firefighters battled a large grassfire near N.E. 63rd Street and Harrah Road that affected over 800 acres of land and caused some residents to evacuate.

HARRAH, Oklahoma – Harrah firefighters battled a large grassfire near N.E. 63rd Street and Harrah Road that affected over 800 acres of land and caused some residents to evacuate.

The fire burned a few storage structures and threatened homes. Residents in the area were evacuated as a precaution.

The Harrah Assistant Fire Chief said six fire departments assisted in fighting the fire.

The blaze began at about 3:15 p.m. The cause of the fire is unknown.

No injuries were reported from the large fire.
