OKLAHOMA CITY -- Thousands of newborns over the next year will be welcomed into the world Thunder-style.

The Oklahoma City Thunder has teamed up with Integris Baptist Medical Center to give away "care kits" to newborns and their mothers. Each one comes with baby gloves, booties, a hat and a Thunder blanket.

"We wanted to do something special for all the new lives that develop here at Integris. In their first few days on this planet we think it's great that they can be connected to the Thunder," said Dan Mahoney, Oklahoma City Thunder.

The team said they plan to give away 3,000 newborn kits this year. And big brothers and sisters aren't left out. They'll each receive a Rumble doll.
