My 2 Cents: Line The Capitol With Cots And Mattresses

I kind of like this austerity program some members of Congress are putting themselves on. The metro area's newest Congressman, James Lankford, plans to sleep in his office rather than spend money renting an apartment.

I gotta tell you, I kind of like this austerity program some members of Congress are putting themselves on. I see where the metro area's newest Congressman, James Lankford, plans to sleep in his office in the Capitol rather than spend money renting an apartment.

Apparently three or four dozen Congress members are sleeping in their offices.

Congressman Lankford said he went so long without a paycheck during the campaign he doesn't want to spend any money on a Washington apartment, but to use his paycheck to restore his families financial footing.

That's a guy who's living where most of us are.

Senate leader Harry Reid stays at the Ritz Carlton while in Washington, pretty nice digs.

I don't know about you, but I don't want any of these politicians to be too comfy in Washington. The more they're there, the more of our money they spend.

Besides if they're sleeping on cots, they'll be excited about getting back home, and then living under the laws they've been making for the rest of us.

I say cut the per diem's and line the halls of the Capitol with cots and air mattresses.

Leave Kelly Your 2 Cents, tell us where you're from, and he could read your comments on air.
