OKLAHOMA CITY -- A 10-month-old baby with serious injuries all over his body has been taken into state protective custody while police investigate possible child abuse.

On December 26, 2010, the baby was transported from Moore Hospital to OU Medical Center after doctors discovered both the infant's arms were broken. He also had bruising and bite marks on his arms and legs. Doctors said the bite marks were from an adult.

Oklahoma City Police were called to the hospital to investigate.

According to the police report, one of the adults who brought the baby to the hospital said the child became bruised while learning to walk. She said the child often fell on the carpet, and had taken a particularly hard fall on Christmas Eve, hitting his back and head. She said she had not seen any marks on his body that day or the next.

The woman's parents watched the child while she was at work December 26. They said when they removed the baby's pajamas that morning they saw the bruises and bite marks. They also noticed the child was not using his right arm. They immediately took him to the hospital.

The Oklahoma Department of Human Services has taken custody of the baby. His name has not been released.
