Woman Hit, Killed Along I-40 And Mustang Road In Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident where a woman was killed along I-40 and Mustang Road.

Troopers said it is unclear why the woman was walking on the side of the westbound off ramp. The fatal accident happened at about 7:15 p.m.

"One of our captains was two cars back and saw it," said OHP Trooper Tom Barton. "She was walking away from traffic.  She didn't see him until him was too late."

The woman's name has not been released. She is in her mid 40s.

The ramp was shut down for several hours while troopers investigated the crash.
