3 Young Sisters Honored For Saving Mom's Life By Calling 911

CHOCTAW, Oklahoma – Three little girls were honored by the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office after they called 911 to save their mom's life.

911 Dispatcher: "Where's your mommy at, do you know?"
Angel Bushay: "She's in the kitchen floor blacked out."

Six-year-old Angel first called 911 on December 13 after her mother blacked in the kitchen. Her 7-year-old sister Alicia also talked to the dispatcher as she calmed her two little sisters down.

Marcia Ann Washington welled up in tears as she listened to her daughters call for help.

"It's very emotional. I did not know I was out that long," said Washington.

The mother of three isn't sure why the blackouts happen but when they became more frequent, she taught her daughters how to call 911.

"The kids are so smart you know. When you think they're running around and playing, they don't listen to me, nothing I tell them. But they really do and in time of need they will take care of you as long as you teach them," said Washington.

"Mommy just taught us because if something important or something bad happens to us or her or grandma and she told us to call 911 or call our family or something," said 7-year-old Alicia Bushay.

Sheriff John Whetsel said the girls are heroes for helping save their mother's life. Sheriff Whetsel presented Angel, Alicia and 4-year-old Ashlyn with certificates and special Christmas presents for their heroic actions.

"They were calm and did exactly what was necessary to get their mother help," said Sheriff Whetsel. "We are very proud of what they did."

"It's just super important that the kids need to learn as soon as they're talking and walking. They need to learn those numbers," said Washington. "We're all very blessed that we're here together and I'm very proud of my girls for taking care of me."
