OKLAHOMA CITY -- Some of Oklahoma City's most disadvantaged children decided they wanted to give instead of receive, showing they were truly in touch with the spirit of Christmas.
These homeless children at Positive Tomorrows made cards and stuffed stockings to deliver to seniors at the Fountains at Canterbury retirement home. They're also sending stockings to needy children in Peru.
"We wanted them to really experience what Christmas was all about. Instead of receiving so much that their hearts feel just as wonderful when they give back to someone else," said Sandy Thomas, Positive Tomorrows volunteer coordinator.
On Thursday, the children will also donate gifts to Toys for Tots. They all agreed they wanted to give a gift to another child.
