Wife Of 50 Years Allegedly Stabbed By Husband 20 Times

SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – A Shawnee man is accused of stabbing his wife of 50 years over twenty times with a kitchen knife.

Rexford Earl Hilburn, 71, was arrested and is currently being held in the Pottawatomie County jail.

The couple's granddaughter believes Hilburn has been suffering from mental problems for the past few months.

Hilburn's wife, Linda, is in critical condition. Her granddaughter believes the 67-year-old will survive and doubts she will press charges against her husband.
