OKLAHOMA CITY – About a month ago, an Oklahoma teen took on an ambitious challenge to raise enough money to feed 500 people for Thanksgiving. And we're happy to say, mission accomplished.
Eric Ringwald, 16, donated more than $2,300 to the City Rescue Mission.
"It's pretty heartwarming," he said. "A sense of good feeling that you did something good."
Ringwald raised the money through donations from his church, generous Oklahomans and a few businesses. Rescue Mission officials say Eric's challenge is a testament to his character.
"You know, a lot of times young people are looked upon as being selfish and self centered but this is a perfect example of the heart of the youth of our community," Tom Jones, City Rescue Mission President said.
Jones says the donation will make a difference in the lives of many Oklahomans.
