OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are searching for a man suspected of a crime spree in the Oklahoma City area, including the kidnapping and sexual assault of an Oklahoma City woman.

Police said 51-year-old Carey Breshers kidnapped a 50-year-old woman from her workplace last Thursday.  They said he forced her to go a bank and cash some checks.  He's also accused of sexually assaulting the woman.

The victim was able to send a text message to her son saying she'd been kidnapped.  He then reported her missing to police.

Police said Breshers drove the woman to Missouri and left her in St. Louis on Sunday, where she contacted police.  Investigators said there may be two witnesses to the kidnapping.  Police have released an image of the possible suspects taken from a surveillance camera at an Oklahoma City Wal-Mart.  They're asking anyone who recognizes the witnesses to call police.

Breshers is also wanted in connection with the robbery of Ziggyz Smoke Novelty Shop, a home invasion and a domestic-related assault.

Investigators in Missouri said Breshers also kidnapped two women Tuesday morning in O'Fallon, Ill., just east of St. Louis.  Police said Breshers released those women after he tried to force them to cash their company's checks at a local bank.  A teller became suspicious and called police.

Records showed Breshers has a long criminal history.  He was in prison for killing an Oklahoma farmer back in 1976.

Breshers was last seen driving a Pontiac Grand Prix with Missouri license plate AE2-L4N.  Police said he is armed and dangerous, and could be anywhere between Oklahoma City and Missouri.

Anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts should call 911 immediately.  Anyone with additional information can call the Homicide Tip Line at 405-297-1200.
