OKLAHOMA CITY -- The mother of a 13-year-old girl who was attacked on an Oklahoma City School bus Monday afternoon said she will never let her daughter go back to John Marshall High School again.

"I had to take my daughter to the ER and was there till after midnight," said Carrie Holeman. "The district has left me with no answers."

Both Holeman and her husband were waiting for their daughter to return home from school on the bus on Monday afternoon. Holeman said their daughter has been the victim of harassment and bullying by several black students at the school. The family said they believed the attacks were racially motivated.

A fight broke out on the bus involving Holeman's daughter and some other students at the bus stop at N.W. 69th Street and Drexel Boulevard. Holeman's husband got on the bus to break it up. She said an altercation then broke out between her husband and the bus driver, and the bus driver hit her husband.

"We plan on filing a lawsuit," Holeman said.

Holeman said she tried to get her daughter transferred from John Marshall but has been refused.

"She has been tormented every day," Holeman said. "I don't know why they are targeting my daughter."

Holeman said she has complained to the school once a week for two years, and to the district too but claimed nothing was done.

Tierney Cook with the Oklahoma City Public School district said Monday's bus incident is under investigation, and she cannot speak specifically about the case. Cook said neither she nor the principal of John Marshall High School can comment on the allegations of racial tension and bullying at the school in regards to this incident.

Cook confirmed the principal and the district have received complaints from Holeman. She also confirmed the bus driver involved in Monday's incident will not be driving a bus through the rest of this week.

Oklahoma City police said no arrests were made in connection to the fight.
