OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oologah-Talala and Sapulpa School District websites are listed among the most improved in a recent update from the Oklahomans for Responsible Government.

The OFRG looks at websites at every district in the state to rate them in their presentation of information under its "Blueprint for Transparency" guidelines.

School district websites from across the state were assessed by how easy it is for the public to find and understand information in 10 categories:

  • School budget
  • Meetings
  • Elected officials
  • Administrative officials
  • Public records
  • Contracts
  • Taxes
  • Background checks on current and prospective employees
  • Academic performance of students

Oologah-Talala and Sapulpa websites improved in six of the 10 categories, according to a media release. Only one school district – Ardmore's Plainview – scored more highly by improving in eight categories.

Other districts whose websites improved the most in transparency were Amber-Pocasset, Bishop, Edmond, Lindsay, Nowata, Pawhuska and Ponca City.

The improvements were made in a one-year period, the release states.
