My 2 Cents: Father Just Protecting His Daughter

A father in Florida issued an apology Monday for threatening some boys, but they deserved it.

James Jones walked his 13-year-old daughter to the school bus a couple of weeks ago, but before they got there, she broke down in tears and told her father she was afraid to get on.

This little girl, with cerebral palsy, was being tormented daily by some boys on the bus. Jones said they shouted rude comments at her, smacked her in the back of the head, even threw a condom on his daughter's head.

He'd heard enough.

James Jones did what most good dads would do, he climbed onto the bus and issued the bullies a warning. He also threatened the bus driver for not protecting his daughter.

Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct and disturbing a school function.

He's now apologizing for the way he handled the situation.

I wish it would go to trial, make the punk kids come to court and admit what they'd done to the girl. There's not a jury in the land that would convict that dad.

He's his child's protector. Those boys are lucky all he did was threaten them.
