OKLAHOMA CITY -- Flood damage has forced the stars at Carpenter Square Theatre to take the show on the road.

The group's original venue, Stage Center, was damage by high waters this summer during a storm.

That's why this month's premier of "Leading Ladies" is at the Bricktown Hotel & Convention Center near I-40 and MLK Avenue.

"Ninety percent of what is on the stage is newly purchased because everything else we had was destroyed in the flood," said Carpenter Square Theatre Artistic Director Rhonda Clark.

The show are being performed in one of the hotel's ballrooms that the group is having to transform into a makeshift theater.

"We looked at several options. As far as existing theaters there weren't any spaces available for a month," Clark said.

There was the initial concern of having it at the hotel but as it turned out, ballrooms aren't that bad of a choice.

"The acoustics are good and its a large space that you can do a lot with," Clark said.

Specific performance dates and times for "Leading Ladies" are:

September 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 8 p.m.

September 16 & 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 19 at 2 p.m.

September 16 & 23 are "Two-for-One Thursdays" when tickets are only $18 for two admissions.
