Portion of I-40 Crosstown Reopens after Hole Repair

The inside westbound lane of the Interstate 40 Crosstown Bridge at Classen Boulevard has reopened after being shut down due to a hole in the bridge.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The inside westbound lane of the Interstate 40 Crosstown Bridge at Classen Boulevard has reopened after being shut down due to a hole in the bridge.

Crews closed the road just after 8 a.m. Wednesday. It was reopened after 1 p.m.

Crews repaired a one foot by six feet hole in the center lane of westbound I-40 Thursday, August 19. A hole opened between Western Avenue and Classen Boulevard The Crosstown was down to one lane for almost five hours.

Work on the new Crosstown is on schedule and the bridge crews have been working day and night. It is expected to be open to traffic by 2012.
