OKLAHOMA CITY -- The lawsuit over the death of a Putnam City West teenager has been settled.
Seventeen-year-old Phillip Jones drowned while running with cross country athletes along trails at Lake Overholser in August of 2007.
Phillip's family filed a lawsuit against the Oklahoma City after they claimed his death could have been prevented if the city maintained the area better.
Tuesday, city council members agreed to pay $50,000 to the Jones' family to settle the case.
