OKLAHOMA CITY -- Shoppers have one more day to take advantage of Oklahoma's back-to-school tax-free weekend. The tax-free weekend lasts until midnight Sunday, and many stores and malls have extended their hours for this weekend.

Only clothing items and shoes under $100 qualify for the tax break. Schools supplies are not tax free.

While shoppers flocked some malls to save on sales taxes, other stores reported no increase in business.

The state suspends taxes on certain items costing less than $100 each for three days in an effort to help families save on back-to-school items. Many of the bargains are tailored to fit the "no-sales tax" requirements and every retailer in the state must participate. The tax-free weekend began Friday and runs through Sunday.

State tax officials say shoppers saved $6.8 million in sales taxes last year.

Shoppers can take advantage of the Tax Free Weekend until midnight tomorrow.

Many stores and malls have extended their hours for this weekend.

Items excluded from the sales tax include clothing, footwear, gloves, diapers and baby receiving blankets.

If you don't have a chance to get out this weekend and shop, any online orders placed and processed this weekend are included in the holiday, even if it's not shipped until later.

The tax-free holiday started in 2007 after state lawmakers passed a bill trying to help boost the state economy.

To help avoid any confusion, Bruce Smith with the Oklahoma Tax Commission shared what purchases qualify this weekend.
