OKLAHOMA CITY – State Senator Randy Brogdon has endorsed Congresswoman Mary Fallin in her bid for governor.

Brogdon made the announcement during a joint press conference today at 11:30 a.m. at the Fallin For Governor Campaign Headquarters.

Brogdon said the endorsement was delayed because he and his wife took a few days off after the July 27 primary election. He said he also wanted to meet with Fallin first to discuss her position on various issues.

During the primary race, Brogdon attacked Fallin for what he said were "liberal compromises" because of her vote in 2008 to bail out the nation's financial industry.

Fallin won the Republican gubernatorial nomination by more than 55 percent of the vote over Brogdon, Roger L. Jackson and Robert Hubbard.

Democrat Jari Askins and Fallin will meet in the November 2 general election for governor. One of them will become Oklahoma's first female governor.

Drew Edmondson conceded at about 11 p.m. Tuesday to make Askins the Democratic gubernatorial nominee.
