EDMOND, Oklahoma – Edmond police have arrested a woman who was involved in a high-speed pursuit Monday morning.
Police said 38-year-old Tiffany Lea Billie was driving the car and bailed out after leading police on a chase that reached speeds of 80 mph through Edmond into Oklahoma City.
The chase began after Edmond police did a routine tag run and found that the car Billie was driving was stolen.
The chase started on Memorial Road in Edmond onto the Broadway Extension and ended at about 10:20 a.m. on 82nd Street and Harvey near Nichols Hills when Billie got out of the car, got back in to keep running and subsequently got out again and surrendered to police.
The passenger, 29-year-old James Matthew Bean, was also arrested but was released and cleared of all charges. Police determined Bean tried to persuade Billie to stop the car during the pursuit.
Police said Billie is currently in the Oklahoma County Jail and faces several charges including unauthorized use of motor vehicle and attempting to elude police officer charges, but more charges may be pending.
No injuries were reported.
