OKLAHOMA CITY -- A metro woman is asking for the public's help in finding her late husband's World War II German Nazi flag after it was reported stolen.

Al Preston was a World War II prisoner of war. He got the 3-foot by 5-foot flag after marching 84 days across Europe.

"Someone had a German flag, a Nazi flag that he liked to buy from them, and the guy said, ‘No you've been in a prison camp. I will give this flag to you,'" said Al's wife, Mary Preston.

The flag never left the Preston's home.

"He had it on his wall the entire time, and he would pass by it every time he would go upstairs," Mary said.

Three years after his passing, Mary, decided to sell the flag in an estate sale. Days before the auction, she had a change of heart, but she said someone visiting the pre-auction viewing got to the flag before she could. Now she's asking whoever took it, to return it to her home.

"If anybody knows who did it, just ask them to either put it on my doorstep, put it in my car, put it in the mailbox, or just come by and hand it to me and tell me you are sorry, and it will be no charges pressed. I want the flag back," Mary said.

Mary said she would even pay the person $100 just to get the flag back, no questions asked.

Mary said if she gets the flag back, she wants to donate it to a POW museum.
