Oklahoma City City Council Approves Budget

The Oklahoma City City Council has approved its budget for the next fiscal year.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City City Council has approved its budget for the next fiscal year.

It does not include employee concessions and no police or firefighters will be laid off.

Council members voted Tuesday morning on its option two plan which includes eliminating 100 positions which are mostly vacant. Only 5 non-uniform employees are facing layoffs.

Council members also preserved several other services including expanded transit services and the fish hatchery will also remain open.
