OKLAHOMA CITY -- A mandatory outdoor watering ban has ended after a water main break was fixed along Hefner Road.
The ban has been in place for all residents and businesses served by the Hefner Water Treatment Plan since Tuesday. The ban helped maintain water pressure for fire protection and drinking water needs.
The 36-inch replacement pipe needed to repair the problem, arrived Wednesday about 9:30 a.m. Contractors worked through the night to immediately fix the problem. It is reported that the repairs went smoothly and the system is back to normal operations.
City officials said they appreciate citizens' participation in the watering ban and apologize for any inconveniences and frustrations the main break caused them.
