Van Crashes into Tree after Pursuit, Suspect in Critical Condition

OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy was led on a pursuit that ended in a crash late Wednesday night.

The deputy noticed a van without headlights on driving southbound on Meridian near I-240 around 11:45 p.m. The deputy attempted to stop the van but the driver refused to stop.

The deputy turned on his lights and siren and followed the van. The driver of the van turned westbound on to S.W. 23rd Street on a dead end road. The van went airborne and crashed into a tree.

Emergency fire crews had to cut the driver out of the vehicle and he was transported to OU Medical Center's Presbyterian Tower.

The driver has been identified as Chineyeze Dorsla. The 26-year-old is listed in critical condition with a broken left femur bone, a broken left arm, and is scheduled for surgery.
