Oklahoman, Egyptian-American Creates Country Fusion Music

OKLAHOMA CITY – An Egyptian-American who calls Oklahoma home is reaching out the Muslim world with his country music twang with a twist.

Kareem Salama recently left Ponca City to head to Cairo, Egypt to perform. This country-western singer invented a new genre of music, you could call it country-eastern, adapting the Arabic poetry of a medieval Muslim theologian to a country tune.
