OKLAHOMA CITY -- Sooner or later, you will probably sell one of your cars. A popular and easy way to do it is online. But before you post your ad, the experts at eBay have 5 things you should know to get the biggest payout from your ride.

Step 1: Do your research. Know how much your car is worth. A good starting point would be by checking the Kelly Blue Book Value by going to www.kbb.com.

Step 2: Make the headline searchable. Avoid words like "neat" or "nice". When someone's searching for a vehicle, they're going to put in the basics like "Leather" "2008".

Step 3: Take pictures – and lots of them. Shoot for 40, but at least 12. Show all angles and any problems. You want to prove that you're being transparent in the sale.

Step 4: Work on the description. This is one of those areas that you can usually do better than a dealer. Dealers have so many cars, they don't have time to put in all the details.

Step 5: Follow-up with buyer. This will benefit you if you're selling on a site like eBay. If the buyer's happy, he or she will likely post good feedback to your account, encouraging others to do business with you.
