OKLAHOMA CITY -- A huge upper level storm system (low pressure area) extends from Denver on the west to the east coast of the United States. This large rotating system will control Oklahoma's weather for at least the next three to five days.

It has shifted our weather from warmer temperatures to a regime of cold mornings and cool afternoons along with fairly constant, strong surface winds from the northwest. The winds will slowly decrease late Sunday into Tuesday.

This weather pattern usually produces mostly dry conditions but on occasion a small upper storm system embedded within the much larger circulation will rotate around like the spokes on a wheel, giving a chance of light, brief precipitation.
