TULSA, OK -- An Oklahoma man has pleaded guilty in federal court on Friday for trafficking in what prosecutors are calling a "club drug." Lewis Aaron Nixon III, 27, of Oklahoma City will be sentenced on June 8, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Woodward.

Nixon and Lorenzo Cottrell Marable, 24, of Michigan both pleaded guilty to the trafficking charge.

The two men were pulled over for a traffic violation by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper on Interstate 44 near Vinita on December 15, 2009. No one in the vehicle had a valid driver's license, according to police, and a drug dog alerted to the vehicle.

The trooper found 6,000 pills of Benzylpiperazine, a schedule I controlled drug also known as "Molly," "Legal E," or "Legal X." The drug is used at all-night parties for its stimulant properties and so is known as a club drug.

The case again Nixon and Marable is the first time anyone has been tried in Oklahoma for trafficking in the drug.

Another co-defendant is scheduled for a court appearance in March.
