MOORE, Oklahoma -- Fire officials are investigating the cause of a blaze at a high school in Moore.
Deputy Fire Chief Gary Bird says the police officer assigned to Southmoore High School called the fire department around 1:30 p.m. Friday to report a fire in the balcony area of the auditorium.
Bird says the students were evacuated from the school safely and there were no reports of injuries. He said students were allowed to go home.
Bird says the sprinkler system activated, helping contain the blaze to the auditorium.
The cause of the fire, he says, is under investigation.
Moore school officials didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.
