Documents Reveal Details of Man Accused of Murder and Kidnapping

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Comanche County District Attorney filed murder and kidnapping charges against Lester William Hobbs on Tuesday. Court records from documents for the warrant detailed probable cause for his arrest.

The documents indicated Tonya Hobbs died of blunt force trauma over the weekend. She was found dead by her sister-in-law, Mildred Anderson, who reported that her brother, Lester Hobbs, and niece, Aja Johnson, were missing.

The camper trailer where Tonya was murdered is on Anderson's property. Anderson said Lester moved there about a month ago. The last time Mildred Anderson saw Tonya alive was on Saturday, January 23, 2010, when they had dinner in her trailer.

The next morning, Tonya's "vehicle was gone," and repeated attempts to contact Lester and Tonya were unsuccessful. That's when Anderson went over to investigate and found Tonya dead inside the trailer.

Multiple family members said Lester Hobbs is a violent person, and records show multiple people reported Lester had made threats against Tonya in the past. A Petition for Protective Order was filed by Tonya in Lincoln County last August. She wrote Lester Hobbs had threatened to kill her two daughters and threatened to kill Tonya if she left him.

"The thing we are asking everybody to do is continue to look. Help us search," said Comanche County Sheriff Kenny Stradley. "Think of it like this could be your daughter, so we need your help to find these people."

Court documents state Tonya died of blunt force trauma. The medical examiner has not yet released details of the autopsy.
