OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police are investigating a pursuit involving a 15-year-old girl that ended near N.W. 20th Street and Rockwell Avenue.

According to Bethany police, the 15-year-old girl said she was taken against her will near 19th Street and MacArthur Boulevard. Oklahoma City Police said Friday morning that the girl was not taken against her will.

Police said the suspect, 20-year-old Garon Hardwick, came through the neighborhood near N.W. 20th Street and Rockwell Avenue at very high speeds, up to 60 mph. The suspect fled the car while it was still moving in attempt to escape police.

The pursuit began when a Bethany police officer tried to conduct a routine traffic stop and the 20-year-old drove off.

Bethany Police Lt. Jason Skaggs said Hardwick knew people in the neighborhood. When he fled inside a house, the residents came out and told police he was hiding inside.

Hardwick was arrested on a complaint of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
